Six Odds On Favourites At BAFTAs: Will British Charge Come In Best Supporting Actor
The winners at this year’s BAFTAs looks pretty much like a foregone conclusion according to William Hill who have six clear favourites to win the big six awards.
Damien Chazelle and Viola Davis are the strongest favourites (both at 1/10) to win Best Supporting Actress and Best Director respectively.
Casey Affleck (1/5) and Emma Stone (4/11) look set for the two big acting awards.
In terms of British interest, of which there is often some at the BAFTAs, Andrew Garfield is 12/1 to win Best Actor, Emily Blunt is 25/1 for Best Actress, I, Daniel Blake and director, Ken Loach are both 10/1 for their respective awards with Naomi Harris and Hayley Squires 10/1 and 16/1 in Best Supporting Actress.
The most likely British challenge comes in the form of Best Supporting Actor nominees Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Dev Patel who are 11/4 and 6/1 to win the award.
“A Brit win in the big six does not look likely, however, if there is one, it is likely to come in the form of Aaron Taylor-Johnson or Dev Patel in the Best Supporting Actor category,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
