Glass Animals Move Into Favouritism With Just A Couple Of Hours Left

After a 24 hour gamble, Glass Animals have gone from 12/1 to 11/4 favourites to win this year’s Mercury Prize with William Hill. Kate Tempest, who had led the field is the 7/2 joint second favourite with Sampha.

“In the past we have seen last minutre gambles like this land with PJ Harvey in 2011 and Skepta last year both very heavily backed with just hours to go before the announcement,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “However, gambles on Paul Weller in 2010 and Ghostpoet in 2015 proved fruitless.”
