Junker also said of Brexit “this will be a sad and tragic moment in our history” and William Hill are now betting on who will be next. Greece is the 2/1 favourite to be the next country to leave the EU with Italy 5/2 and Sweden 6/1.

“It is clear that members of the EU feel that Brexit will have a detrimental effect on themselves and the UK but despite this, it seems clear that 2019 is the year it will take place,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
