Australia: Opens Bets On Another Caulfield Catastrophe For Punters
Looking to avoid repeat of last Saturday’s debacle, bookmaker William Hill has opened a market on how many races will be completely removed from Sky Racing 1 and played on Sky Racing 2 for the Group 1 meeting at Caulfield on Saturday.
Last Saturday, races at Dalby, Doomben, Morphettville and twice at the Sapphire Coast were given preference on the main racing channel, Sky Racing 1, over Caulfield.
“It’s about time all the stakeholders work together to sort this out,” William Hill’s Tim Ashworth said.
“What punters had to put up with last week was utterly disgraceful. Who wants to watch a bush maiden over a listed or group race?“
With 19 race meetings to be held across Australia on Saturday, the meeting in Mackay is the one that holds most interest with two of their races being held within a minute of the start time at Caulfield.
“Punters want to watch the quality races at Caulfield on Saturday as the fields are the strongest that we have seen for some time,” Ashworth said.
“Hopefully these races are broadcasted without disruption.”
How many races from Caulfield this Saturday will be moved from SKY 1 to SKY 2?
$2.25 0-3 Races
$2.60 4-6 Races
$3.60 7 races
