William Hill Scottish Cup: Turnover To Top £2.5m This Weekend

The fifth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup kicks off this weekend and the sponsors believe that well over £2.5m will be wagered across the eight matches.

“With the current domestic racing ban we are fully expecting punters’ attentions to turn elsewhere and that will certainly cause a spike in Scottish Cup betting this weekend,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Rangers, who are the 5/1 second favourites to win the trophy are odds on at 5/6 to defeat Kilmarnock on Saturday evening while Celtic, who are 11/10 for glory at Hamden in May, are 2/9 to beat St Johnstone.

Hearts are 1/10 to defeat Auchinleck Talbot at Tyncastle on Sunday, however, history will have taught them not to rest on their laurels when facing the Junior League side and in Monday’s highland derby, it is Ross County who are 7/10 favourites to top Inverness.
