New Favourite For Arsenal Job As Ljungberg’s Odds Slashed

Freddie Ljungberg’s odds of becoming the next Arsenal manager have been cut from 11/1 to 5/1 in the aftermath of the Gunners comeback win against West Ham on Monday night.

William Hill make Marcelino the 3/1 favourite for the role. Mikel Arteta, who was the favourite going into Monday night’s match, is 10/3 second favourite.

“It was inevitable that Ljungberg’s odds would collapse after Monday’s victory however, the fact that we have a new favourite has really thrown the cat amongst the pigeons,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent Arsenal manager: 3/1 Marcelino; 10/3 Mikel Arteta; 5/1 Freddie Ljungberg; 8/1 Partick Vieira; 8/1 Carlo Ancelotti; 10/1 Massimiliano Allegri; 10/1 Rafa Benitez; 14/1 Mauricio Pochettino; 16/1 BAR
