Bond 25: Money For Mendes To Return To Director’s Seat

David Mackenzie is the 3/1 favourite to take over from Danny Boyle as director of the 25th James Bond film, however, it is Sam Mendes who has attracted all of the overnight money with William Hill.

Mendes’ odds have been trimmed from 10/1 to 7/1 moving him up to fourth in the market and leapfrogging Christopher Nolan and Martin McDonagh in the process.

Mackenzie (3/1), Denis Villeneuve (4/1) and Yann Demange (6/1) are the three early frontrunners.

“A lot of the Bond chat in recent weeks has been about Idris Elba and whether he will replace Daniel Craig once the latter hangs up his tux but there are now more pressing matters at hand and the smart money seems to suggest Sam Mendes may reunite with the franchise and recreate their winning formula,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Who will be the director of Bond 25: 3/1 David Mackenzie; 4/1 Denis Villeneuve; 6/1 Yann Demange; 7/1 Sam Mendes; 8/1 Christopher Nolan; 8/1 Martin McDonagh; 12/1 Ridley Scott; 14/1 Steve McQueen; 16/1 Christopher McQuarrie; 16/1 Danny Boyle; 16/1 JJ Abrams; 50/1 Ken Loach
