Wales Odds On The Drift On The Back Of Bale Blow

William Hill have pushed out the odds of Wales qualifying for the World Cup from 7/4 to 2/1 on the back of their star man, Gareth Bale, being ruled out due to injury. Their price of defeating Georgia on Friday has also drifted from 4/6 to 4/5 on the back of Bale’s injury.

“Just a few days ago we saw England’s Ashes prices negatively impacted by the Ben Stokes incident and that got us thinking about other people who are so key to their respective teams that their price would drift if they were unavailable,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Sadly for Wales, Gareth Bale was one of those names and they now face a real uphill struggle to qualify.”

William Hill odds:

World Cup 2018 Group B qualify: 1/100 Serbia; 2/1 Wales; 5/1 Rep. Ireland
