Turning Back The Clock: Baggies Backed To Bring Back Megson

West Brom have relieved Tony Pulis of his duties at the Hawthorns and William Hill make Gary Megson the 7/2 favourite to take over. Sam Allardyce is next in the betting at 6/1 with Slaven Bilic and Michael O’Neill joint third favourites at 10/1.

“The writing was on the wall for Pulis after Saturday’s result with the phone lines jammed with Baggies fans demanding he goes,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “The West Brom board now have to decide whether they go for someone in a similar mould to Pulis (Allardyce/Megson) or they try and appease the fans with someone who plays with a bit more style (Koeman).”

The fact that Pulis is now a free agent means that his odds of becoming the next Wales manager have come in considerably. He is 13/8 from 9/4 with Ryan Giggs the 8/11 favourite.
