Sunderland Manager Hunt: Gamble Sees McInnes Become Favourite Again

Derek McInnes has been the subject of a large gamble to become Sunderland manager on Tuesday morning at William Hill. Bets of up to £1,000 have been wagered on the Aberdeen boss heading to the Stadium of Light and his odds have tumbled from, an already odds on, 10/11 to 4/9.

“The next Sunderland manager market has seen almost as many favourites as wins they picked up in the Premier League last season and as the hunt drags on it looks as though the race is now between two men – McInnes and Kevin Phillips,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent Sunderland manager: 4/9 Derek McInnes; 2/1 Kevin Phillips; 10/1 Pako Ayesteran; 10/1 Paul Lambert; 14/1 Simon Grayson; 16/1 Nigel Pearson; 20/1 BAR
