Star Wars: The Last Jedi To Break Box Office Records? Can It Win An Oscar?

The trailer for the latest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi has dropped and fans are once again anticipating what should be the movie event of the year. William Hill are offering just 1/6 that it is 2017’s highest grossing movie but odds on at 8/11 to miss out on the huge takings of The Force Awakens. It is 7/2 to break Avatar’s global box office record of $2.78b.

The film is 7/2 to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and 25/1 to scoop the big prize.

“There is no doubt that people will be desperate to see how the latest trilogy continues and it looks likely that this will be the cinematic event of the year,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
