Sane Or Sterling To Be Banned First For Diving

William Hill make Manchester City duo Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane 10/1 joint favourites alongside Alexis Sanchez to be the first Premier League player to be retrospectively banned for simulation. The three market leaders are followed by Anthony Knockaert, Dele Alli, Gabriel Jesus, Marcus Rashford and Wilfried Zaha who are all 12/1.

“This action has been a long time coming from the FA and in order for it to work, they will have to come down hard on the first perpetrator,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “We could well see retrospective action after the first week’s play with Sane, Sterling and Sanchez amongst the favourites to be found guilty.”

First player to be retrospectively banned for diving or feigning injury: 10/1 Raheem Sterling; 10/1 Leroy Sane; 10/1 Alexis Sanchez; 12/1 Anthony Knockaert; 12/1 Dele Alli; 12/1 Gabriel Jesus; 12/1 Marcus Rashford; 12/1 Wilfried Zaha; 14/1 Ashley Young; 14/1 Jamie Vardy; 14/1 Rihad Mahrez; 14/1 Robert Snodgrass; 16/1 Daniel Sturridge; 16/1 Eden Hazard; 20/1 Manuel Lanzini; 20/1 Marko Arnautovic; 20/1 Shane Long; 25/1 Marouane Fellaini; 25/1 Paul Pogba; 25/1 Stefano Okaka
