Rooney And Hart Out Of The Picture? Henderson And Butland To Take Up Mantle?

Harry Kane has been handed the captain’s armband for England’s match against France on Tuesday night and William Hill are offering 2/1 that he leads the Three Lions out at the Russia World Cup. He is second favourite behind slight 7/4 favourite Jordan Henderson.

With Joe Hart potentially slipping down the England goalkeeping pecking order, William Hill now make Jack Butland the 11/8 favourite to start England’s 2018 World Cup campaign between the sticks. Both Fraser Forster and Hart are 9/4 with Tom Heaton 5/1.

“Southgate has plenty to ponder over the next 12 months with Joe Hart out of form and Wayne Rooney out of favour,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “As it stands, Butland looks set to grab the gloves and Jordan Henderson will get the armband.”
