William Hill supports the BHA’s actions as they are in the best interests of equine welfare and we hope this cancellation prevents a wider outbreak. Of course we do not want a more extended period without racing but the BHA must act in the interests of equine welfare. William Hill is fully prepared for any cancellations as we have successfully diversified our products over a number of years to provide customers with products that sit alongside British racing as well as providing an alternative during periods of cancellations. We have live racing from South Africa, France, India and the US whilst also showing all Irish racing and selected meetings from Dubai, South Korea, Germany, Mauritius, Hong Kong and South America. International racing is popular with our customers and acts as an effective substitute when we lose British racing to the weather and football betting has grown substantially in recent years.
After an impressive victory early today, William Hill have cut the price of the Nicky Henderson trained Epatante to win the Trull House Novice Hurdle (8/1 from 10/1) and she is 7/1 to win any race at the Cheltenham festival. Vindication was also an impressive winner for Kim Bailey and is 20/1 for the JLT and 16/1 to win any race at the festival.
Punters have had the better of it at Glorious Goodwood and with wads in their wallets they have decided to pile in on what could be a bookie busting treble. First up is Mirage Dancer, which has been cut from 15/8 to 13/8. In the second, Threading has been all the rage and is now 13/8 from 2/1. Finally, in the 3.35, Battaash is 4/5 from evens.
