Long Shot Or Labouring Under Illusion?
A SURPRISE potential candidate has been backed to succed Jeremy Corbyn as elected Labour leader.
Rebecca Long-Bailey, Salford-Eccles MP, is now 16/1joint fifth favourite with William Hill - who had not taken a single bet for her two days ago. 'Support for her has come out of the,er, red for her and a high profile magazine article seems to have prompted a rush to back her.' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Meanwhile, Hills offer just 6/4 (40% chance) that Labour will LOSE both by-elections on Feb 23, but 7/2 (22%) that they win both.
And Corbyn is now a 2/1 chance to cease to be Labour leader during 2017.
HILLS..NEXT ELECTED LAB LEADE...4/1 Starmer; 8/1 Lewis; 14/1 Jarvis, McDonnell; 16/1 Long- Bailey; D Miliband; Nandy; Watson. Others on request.
