La La Land Dancing All Ove The Opposition – Set For Record Nominations?

Since its Venice Film Festival premiere last year, La La Land has been touted as an Oscar contender, and it now seems a question of how many rather than if. It is currently the top pick for Best Picture 2/9, Emma Stone is  10/11 favourite for Best Actress, Damien Chazelle is 1/8 top pick for Best Director, while Ryan Gosling is 9/1 third favourite for Best Actor.

The record number of Oscar nominations currently stands at 14, a mark set by both Titanic and All About Eve. William Hill offer 3/1 that La La Land will either match or better that astonishing feat set by the pictures in 1998 and 1951 respectively.

“It is all about La La Land – we think there is a real chance that the film will make Oscar history tomorrow,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
