Has Harrow Punter Forgotten About Quarter Of A Million Wager?

A punter from Harrow has gone missing with a betting windfall of £243,858.21 sitting in his William Hill account. The punter in his 50s placed a £90 ninefold on 13th December of last year and it landed when Benfica bagged their fourth consecutive Portuguese title on Saturday.

The Portuguese giants scooped the Liga Nos title the day after Chelsea won the Premier League, which was the penultimate winning selection on a wager that also included Newcastle (Championship), Sheffield United (League 1), Portsmouth (League 2), Lincoln (National League), Livingston (Scottish League 1), Arbroath (Scottish League 2) and the New England Patriots (to win the AFC).

Despite the winning bet being almost a week old, William Hill have not heard from the punter who is yet to acknowledge his winnings.

“There is nearly a quarter of a million sitting in this chaps betting account but we have heard nothing from him,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Imagine if he has forgotten about the bet he has placed – he will be set for quite the pleasant surprise.”
