Tories Blue Hot Favourites To Win Snap Election
THE CONSERVATIVES have been slashed from 8/13 to 1/5 (84% chance) by William Hill to win the next General Election with an overall majority. Hills make Labour 16/1 to do likewise – the longest odds they have been offered at this century. The chances of a Hung Parliament are rated at 9/2 (20%) by Hills.
But the bookies reckon the future looks bleak for Jeremy Corbyn and William Hill offer 1/2 (66% chance) that he will cease to be Labour leader on or before June 9, 2017, 6/4 that he will still be leader on June 10, 2017.
'The next General Election campaign has started badly for us – we face a £23,000 loss if the Election does go ahead on June 8 after the odds for a 2017 Election were shortened from 5/1 to 2/1. We took some £3million on the last General Election, and £5m on the US Election, so we anticipate huge betting interest on a June 8 General Election' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
NEXT GENERAL ELECTION: 1/5 Tory overall majority; 9/2 Hung Parliament; 16/1 Labour overall maj; 20/1 Lib Dem overall maj; 100/1 Ukip overall maj.
TO WIN MOST SEATS...1/14 Tories; 10/1 Labour; 16/1 Lib Dems; 66/1 Ukip
