Favourite Federer Set For All Swiss Semi – Will We Have Federer v Nadal Final?

With Tuesday’s matches already complete, we now know two of the four who will compete in the Australian Open semi-finals. In the early hours of Tuesday, Stan Wawrinka beat Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in straight sets, making him 11/4 second favourite to win the competition. He will face a rejuvenated Roger Federer, who brushed aside Andy Murray’s vanquisher, Mischa Zverev, in 90 minutes. The former world number one has clearly recovered from the injury problems that plagued him last year and is now 2/1 favourite to win the Australian Open. With two quarter-finals left to play, it remains to be seen who will join the Swiss stars in the semis, though Nadal is currently third favourite to win the Open at 7/2, sitting just in front of his opponent, the 5/1 Milos Raonic.

“There are a lots of Tennis fans who will be desperate to see a Nadal vs Federer final and Roger is now the very well backed favourite,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
