Chancellor's NIC Increase Doomed?

FOLLOWING the furore over Chancellor Philip Hammond's controversial plan to increase NICs for the self-employed, bookmakers William Hill believe the new rate WILL NOT be implemented.

Hills are offering odds of 6/4 (40% chance of happening) that the new NIC rise WILL be implemented before the end of 2018 – and 1/ 2 that it will NOT be.

'The adverse reaction to this issue took Mr Hammond and Mrs May by surprise and we believe it is likely to be scrapped or watered down' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills offer odds of 1/6 that Philip Hammond will still be Chancellor when the next General Election takes place, 7/2 that he wil not be.

WILLIAM HILL: 6/4 The new NIC rise is implemented before the end of 2018; 1/ 2 It will NOT be.
