Bumper Betting Weekend To Be Sparked By Scottish Sporting Spectacles

William Hill, title sponsors of the Scottish Cup, are predicting a bumper weekend of Scottish sport which could attract up to £15m worth of wagers across the betting industry. With Hibs and Aberdeen and Celtic and Rangers duking it out at Hamden Park over two days and the Scottish National taking place at Ayr, betting turnover is set to spike as Scotland’s sport takes centre stage.

“Both William Hill Scottish Cup semi-finals are mouthwatering ties with Old Firm games especially attracting bumper turnover while the Scottish National is always incredibly popular with punters,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Additionally punters’ pockets will already be lined fresh from a Scottish win south of the border at Aintree.”

In the Scottish Cup, Aberdeen (4/9) and Celtic (1/5) are the favourites to qualify for the final, while the latter is 4/9 to win the competition.

In the Scottish Grand National, Premier Bond at 8/1 heads the betting while William Hill ambassador, Sir AP McCoy has picked out 16/1 shot, Henri Parry Morgan as his one to watch.
