Boro Manager Sacked: Is Agnew The Banker Post-Karanka?

Aitor Karanka has been given the chop at Middlesbrough and William hill make Steve Agnew the 5/4 favourite to succeed him on a permanent basis. Steve McLaren is the second favourite at 6/1 with Roy Hodgson rounding off the top three in the betting at 8/1.


“Karanka was not able to adapt his Championship stars to life in the Premier League and the Boro board have obviously decided that a change is needed as the side hurtle back towards the second tier,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Having seen the success that Craig Shakespeare has had at Leicester maybe Steve Agnew could get the nod for Boro.”
