Biggest Super Bowl In Betting History

One of the world’s biggest bookmakers, William Hill, expect to take up to £15million ($19million) in bets on the Super Bowl. As is the case every year, it will be the most bet upon sporting event in the American calendar.

And this year, it all looks set to be the biggest betting event in the history of US Sports wagering.

“This year’s Super Bowl will be the biggest and best ever, especially if you’re a bookie,” said William Hill’s Jon Ivan-Duke. “Everywhere from our Las Vegas sportsbooks to the shires of England, we’ll see wagering on the Super Bowl like you’ve never seen before. It’s the biggest betting event in US Sports history.”

“The betting suggests New England Patriots are the team to beat, but 75% of all the money we have taken is on the Atlanta Falcons.”

“It means we are in the unusual position of cheering for the Patriots. For once, Tom Brady could be the bookies’ saviour.”

William Hill expect a close game, with the spread set at just 3 points, while it could be a high scoring contest with the total points over/under at 58.5.

“With two strong offenses we’re expecting plenty of touchdowns,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

New England Patriots are odds-on favourites on the moneyline at 4/6, with the Falcons underdogs at 13/10.
