Altior Impressive + Native Wins At Newbury

Altior is just 1-4 (from 1-2) with William Hill following a highly impressive victory at Newbury in the Game Spirit Chase. The Nicky Henderson-trained chaser was superb and has also shortened for the Queen Mother Champion Chase to 9-4 from 7-2.

“On that performance, Altior might be the only horse who could beat Douvan in the Queen Mother. If he heads to the Arkle, he could well be the shortest priced favourite of the whole Festival,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, Native River is unchanged at 9-2 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after winning the Denman Chase.

“Colin Tizzard has got a stranglehold on this year’s Gold Cup market,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
