World Price Punched After Canyon Win

Nichols Canyon was cut from 8-1 to 6-1 for the World Hurdle by William Hill after victory at Punchestown in the Morgiana Hurdle. Stablemate Faugheen remains 4-1 favourite, but Nichols Canyon is next in the list.

“Many of the Cheltenham Festival markets will be dominated by Willie Mullins in the coming months, but he already holds a particularly strong hand in the World Hurdle,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, in the Arkle, Identity Thief was cut to 7-1 from 8-1 by Hills after winning the two mile novice chase. A Toi Phil is 16-1 from 33-1 for both the JLT and RSA with William Hill after landing the Florida Pearl Novice Chase and 12-1 to win ANY race at the Cheltenham Festival in 2017.

Elsewhere, at Cork, Peace News won the maiden hurdle and has been very well backed for the Supreme since. Initially, William Hill put Peace News in their Supreme market at 14-1 after the race, but after a string of bets the bookmaker cut Henry de Bromhead’s gelding to 12-1.
