William Hill Slash Douvan Odds

Douvan has shortened for the Tingle Creek Chase from 7-2 in to 4-7 with William Hill in the space of 24 hours, since the race was reopened for entries. Initially, bookmakers were sceptical whether Douvan would make the race, but have now decided to slash his odds after some positive support in the market.

“Initially we thought Douvan to be an unlikely runner in the Tingle Creek, but the interest we have seen in the race leads us to believe he could be lining up at Sandown and we’re treating him with extreme caution,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

In the Becher Chase, Alvarado has easily been the most popular horse in the market. The Fergal O’Brien-trained chaser is 10-1 from 14-1 with William Hill since the five day declarations.

“Alvarado is proving to be particularly strong in the Becher Chase market,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “It’s worth noting he hasn’t won in three years, but he does have a good record in placing over the Grand National fences.”

In the Grand Sefton, Bennys Mist is coming under pressure as favourite from Seefood. Bennys Mist is currently 8-1 market leader with William Hill, but Seefood has shortened to 9-1 from 12-1 and continues to be popular. At longer odds Vintage Vinnie is 14-1 from 20-1 with Hills.
