Wenger’s Odds Slashed To Become New England Boss

The odds of Arsene Wenger taking over from Sam Allardcye as manager of England have gone from 20/1 to just 5/1 in the space of less than two days. He is behind the favourite, Gareth Southgate who is 11/10 with William Hill while Steve Bruce is the 3/1 second favourite.

“It is no secret that Wenger’s contract runs out at the end of the season and it may be the most beneficial move for all parties if Wenger decides to take the job rather than risk being ‘pushed out’ by the Arsenal board who may fancy a change of manager after 20 years,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent England manager: 11/10 Gareth Southgate; 3/1 Steve Bruce; 5/1 Arsene Wenger; 8/1 Alan Pardew; 8/1 Glenn Hoddle; 10/1 Eddie Howe; 14/1 Jurgen Klinsmann; 20/1 Mark Warburton; 25/1 Gary Neville; 25/1 Guus Hiddink; 25/1 Roberto Mancini; 25/1 Sean Dyche; 25/1 Slaven Bilic; 33/ BAR
