Twitchy Leicester Fans Cashing Out Following Spurs Win… Ranieri 20/1 For Honorary Knighthood In June

Following Spurs’ victory over Stoke on Monday night, the once confident Leicester punters up and down the country have started to become a little twitchy with four cash ins at William Hill already by 10am on Tuesday morning.

The largest cash out was from a punter who had staked £20 at 5000/1 who collected £61,778.80 although the other punters have included £5 at 1500/1 and some smaller wagers of £20 at 16/1 and £10 at 8/1.

“Following Leicester maintaining their seven point lead at the top of the table last weekend there was an air of defiance with not a single cash out all last week however, within 12 hours of Spurs closing the gap to just five points, it would appear that people are starting to think that the title run in may not quite be as cut and dried as first thought,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “We would expect many more by the time Leicester take to the field on Sunday.”

Had you been one of the 25 people who had backed Leicester at the start of the season when Leicester were 5000/1 to win, you can currently cash in each £1 of your wager for £3,088.94.

Given the incredible 9 months that Leicester have enjoyed under Claudio Ranieri could culminate in the Foxes winning the Premier League, William Hill are offering 20/1 that Claudio Ranieri receives an honorary knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

To be made a sir or dame in the Queen’s birthday honours list: 6/1 Andy Murray; 10/1 David Beckham; 20/1 Claudio Ranieri (honorary); 50/1 Victoria Pendleton

Premier League winner: 4/9 Leicester; 7/4 Tottenham; 100/1 Arsenal; 125/1 Manchester City
