Top Gear: Evans’ 5m Target To Be Overtaken
Chris Evans has stated that 5m viewers would be considered a success for the first episode of Top Gear and William Hill are massively odds on, that in his opinion, the show will be just that. It is 1/3 that the opening episode of the new look show pulls in more viewers than the last one fronted by Clarkson, May and Hammond (5.8m).
It is 5/1 that the opening episode attracts over 8.4m viewers – the record ever for a Top Gear episode.
“5m is quite an ambitious figure for Chris Evans to target however, we think that the new show will not only top it but do so comfortably,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
