Swansea Team Raised £700 For Ty Olwen Hospice
On the 22nd September, William Hill colleagues in Swansea, Amie Hubbard, Philip Roberts, Trina Roberts and Claire Hogshaw hosted a quiz night at the Sea Beach Hotel. Attendees were treated to a game of bingo, a raffle as well as a sporting quiz. Raffle prizes included a football signed by all the Swansea FC squad, and a darts shirt signed by top 10 player, Dave Chisnall.
The team have been fundraising and volunteering for the Hospice over the last year as part of William Hill’s Close to HOME initiative, which aims to make a positive difference in communities through supporting local causes. The group took part in a sponsored hike up Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons, raising almost £1,000, and also a day cleaning a garden shelter at the hospice to make the visitor area more presentable.
Ty Olwen Hospice provide palliative care and support to Singleton, Morriston & Neath Port Talbot community hospitals and also provides a community service to the population of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
The Hospice need to raise £450,000 every year to maintain the many services they provide to the local community.
- William Hill’s Close to HOME initiative was launched in 2015, which supports its 13,000 colleagues across the UK who want to volunteer their time and skills to help causes in their local communities. So far this year William Hill colleagues across the UK have been involved in a range of community projects, including repainting local community centres and volunteering in homeless shelters.
