Strictly Shocker: Less Than 1p In Every Pound For Balls To Win It

With Ed Balls admitting he is struggling with his routines for Strictly Come Dancing which is just two weeks away, William Hill can report that less than 1% of all money placed on the winner have been for him. Most of the money has come for the first five in the betting with 68% of all stakes being placed on Claudia Fragapane (7/2 favourite), Will Young (4/1), Danny Mac (6/1), Laura Whitmore (8/1) and Louise Redknapp (8/1).

“At 66/1 we fully expected Ed to Balls it up but even at such a big price, he has hardly attracted any money whatsoever,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Less than 1p in every £1 we have taken on the market has been for him to win and we think it is more than likely that he will remain in the shadow of his fellow contestants.”

In the race to become the fourth judge after Len Goodman leaves, it is Anton du Beke who is the frontrunner at 5/2, quite some distance ahead of the chasing pack. Arlene Phillips is the 5/1 second favourite with Karen Hardy 6/1.
