Southgate’s Audition Begins Against Minnows…How Many Qualifiers Will He Win?

England are 1/50 to win their match against Malta in what will be Gareth Southgate’s first game as the England number one. With Southgate in charge for at least three qualifiers, he is 4/9 to remain undefeated and 5/4 to win them all.

 

Southgate is the 6/5 favourite to be named as the permanent replacement for Sam Allardyce, while the FA are 1/2 to have appointed a permanent England manager before the New Year.

 

“Gareth Southgate has an extended interview now and starts with a relatively simple opener,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Anything but a win against the minnows on Saturday and his price will drift considerably for the top job.”
