Southgate Favourite For England Job…Will England Have A Manager Before The End Of The Season?

Following Gareth Southgate’s first press conference as interim England manager, William Hill make him 6/5 to bag the job on a permanent basis ahead of Ralf Rangnick at 3/1 and Arsene Wenger at 4/1. The main issue with England hunting for a manager at the moment is that league football has only just started and so with Southgate in charge for the immediate future, it is 11/4 that England do not have a permanent manager in charge before the end of the Premier League season.

“Southgate has an extended interview for this job and surely if he aces it, he will be first choice,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “There are however a number of managers in line for the role who are currently in employment and should they become first choice then the FA would surely have to wait until the end of the season.”
