Rooney Odds On To Start Vs Scotland… Hart To Keep Number One Jersey

England captain, Wayne Rooney is odds on with William Hill to start England’s match against Scotland on Friday. He is 4/6 to start the match while another name who has returned to favour in recent weeks, is Jack Wilshere and the Bournemouth midfielder is 5/2 to start on Friday.

Another interesting story in the build up to the game is that of the goalkeeping situation. With Joe Hart out of sight in Italy, he is most certainly not out of mind and he is 1/8 to start against Scotland with Fraser Forster and Tom Heaton 8/1 and 12/1 respectively.

“Joe Hart has been the undisputed England number one for the past six years or so and Fraser Forster and Tom Heaton have both had to wait patiently in the wings,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Despite moving to Italy, it looks highly likely he will keep his jersey for the match against Scotland.”

With Gareth Southgate taking charge for the third match, William Hill make him 5/4 favourite to take on the role on a permanent basis with Roberto Mancini 3/1 and Arsene Wenger 9/2.
