Rogue One To Bag Best Picture Nomination?
With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, being released this week and already garnering rave reviews, William Hill are offering 10/1 that it is nominated for Best Picture at the 2017 Oscars.
It is also expected that the film will creep into the top five films released this year in terms of worldwide grossing. William Hill have set the spread at $925m and offer 8/11 that target is surpassed by the latest movie in the franchise. That would see it at least slip into the top five just ahead of The Secret Life of Pets.
“Rogue One has not had the same huge promotional push that The Force Awakens received and it is a struggle to see it beating the success of that film but with reviews suggesting this could be one of the best Star Wars movies ever, there is every chance that it could approach the $1b mark for turnover and could even sneak an Oscar nomination,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
