Respect For Mountainous Trial

Welsh Grand National winner Mountainous is the 6-1 favourite with William Hill for this weekend’s Grand National Trial at Haydock. He could provide another memorable win for his rookie trainer.

“Kerry Lee’s horses have been in phenomenal form this season and we’ve got a lot of respect for Mountainous this weekend,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Jim Best’s Gas Line Boy and Alan King’s Sego Success are next in the betting at 9-1.

In the Ascot Chase, Silviniaco Conti is the 5-2 favourite to bounce back with a win, after pulling up in the William Hill King George VI Chase last time out.

“Silviniaco Conti has got a few questions to answer but he’s still the one to beat,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
