Psychic Punter Set For £166,250 Grand National Payout!

A mystery William Hill punter from Birmingham has placed a monster £10,000 Grand National bet on Goonyella and Hills are now searching for the customer, who told the shop staff that he placed the bet using ‘psychic powers’. The bet was placed in February, but the psychic stranger has not returned. If the customer is right and Goonyella wins, the £5k each-way bet would deliver £166,250 to the prophetic punter.

“We’ve not seen head nor tail of him since he placed the bet. The local punters say he was given the tip by his spirit guide. Of all the ways we’ve heard of people placing their Grand National bet, this is by far and away one of the strangest,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

“We’d love to speak to him to verify if this is how he places all his bets and whether he’s picked the winner with this method in the past!”

Last year’s winner Many Clouds is the current 7-1 favourite for Aintree’s richest race, with William Hill fearing a ‘Red Rum’ like victory. No horse since Red Rum has ever won the Grand National twice. “If Many Clouds wins then the bookies will be hitchhiking home from Aintree,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
