Price Drops On Queen Abdicating This Year

With a day to go until the Queen’s 90th birthday, William Hill have cut the odds of her abdicating this year from 6/1 to 4/1 on the back of a steady stream of bets from royal punters. Should she go, it is Charles who is the 1/4 favourite to take over the monarchy.

“The price of the Queen abdicating has dropped significantly over the last 24 hours as people predict that with her turning 90, she may wish to put her feet up for a bit,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

The Queen’s official birthday may still be a few weeks away yet Britain’s biggest bookmaker are predicting who could be made knights or dames in the Birthday Honours List in June. Andy Murray is a 6/1 shot with both David Beckham and Mark Rylance 10/1 shots. The outsiders include both Adele and Claudio Ranieri at 20/1 and Mary Berry at 50/1
