Corbyn To Remain Leader- And Become PM?

JEREMY CORBYN is a racing certainty to retain the Labour leadership by defeating rival Owen Smith, say bookmakers William Hill - who rate him a 1/10 (90%) chance to do so, with Smith offered at 6/1 (14%).

And Corbyn has also been made 5/1 favourite by Hills to be the next Prime Minister in succession to Theresa May, with Boris Johnson 7/1 second favourite.

'Owen Smith hasn't captured the imagination of political punters and there is little support for him to cause an upset in the Labour leadership race' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL BELIEVE IT IS AN ODDS-ON CHANCE THE THE UK WILL GO INTO RECESSION BEFORE THE END OF 2017, AND OFFER 8/11 (57%) ABOUT THAT HAPPENING, EVEN MONEY THAT IT DOESN'T.

Hills also offer Even money (50%) that the Bank of England base rate does NOT rise from the current 0.25% before 2018.

**Meanwhile, Hills make Diane James 4/11 (73%) favourite to win the Ukip leadership contest, with Lisa Duffy the 4/1 second favourite.
