Odds Tumble On Allardyce And Bruce To Bag Three Lions Role

The odds of Sam Allardyce becoming the next England manager have been cut from 2/1 to 5/4 to become the next England manager following a number of bets on the Sunderland boss today - including one of £600 at 2/1.

His odds came in to Evens at one point on Monday however they were eased as Steve Bruce’s odds of bagging the job tumbled. Available at 33/1 at the start of Monday, he is now the 10/1 fourth favourite. Jurgen Klinsmann is the 9/4 second favourite with Eddie Howe 9/1.

“Allardyce is the clear front runner, however the betting suggests that there are more than a few candidates to challenge him for the job,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent England manager: 5/4 Sam Allardyce; 9/4 Jurgen Klinsmann; 9/1 Eddie Howe; 10/1 Steve Bruce; 12/1 Glenn Hoddle; 16/1 Guus Hiddink; 16/1 Harry Redknap; 20/1 lan Pardew; 25/1 Arsene Wenger
