Odds Slashed Even Further On Ronaldo Picking Up Ballon d’Or

Despite being subbed off before the half hour mark of Portugal’s Euro 2016 victory, Cristiano Ronaldo is just 1/6 to win this year’s Ballon d’Or, quite some way ahead of the next closest contender, Lionel Messi, who is 5/1. Antoine Griezmann is 6/1 third favourite.

“Ronaldo’s odds have tumbled from 1/2 since Portugal lifted the Euros trophy and he is now even more nailed on to win the Ballon d’Or at just 1/6,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ballon d’Or 2016: 1/6 Cristiano Ronaldo; 5/1 Lionel Messi; 6/1 Antoine Griezmann; 8/1 Luis Suarez; 16/1 Gareth Bale; 25/1 Neymar; 40/1 Dimitri Payet; 40/1 Paul Pogba; 40/1 Zlatan Ibrahimovic; 100/1 Riyad Mahrez
