Nothing’s The Mata As Juan Set To Stay Put…

After he was dragged off the Wembley pitch a mere half an hour after he was subbed on during Sunday’s Charity Shield, William Hill are offering 6/1 that Juan Mata leaves Manchester United before the end of the transfer window (1/12 to stay). His position at Old Trafford could be under even more threat should Paul Pogba arrive from Juventus and he is currently just 10/1 to win the PFA Player of the Year award, despite the fact that the transfer is yet to go through. Sergio Aguero is the 11/2 favourite to win the award ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at 8/1 and Mesut Ozil at 9/1.

“Juan Mata did not look happy when he was taken off and it further indicated the frosty relationship between him and his manager, although, it looks likely that Mourinho will want to keep him at Old Trafford at least for the immediate future,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
