Nobel Peace Prize: Merkel’s Odds Cut After Gamble
William Hill have cut the price of Angela Merkel winning the Nobel Peace Prize from 10/1 to 7/1 with 50% of all bets placed on the market being for the German Chancellor.
She is quite some way behind the favourite however, the Greek Islanders at 13/8 with the pairing of Juan Manuel Santos and Timoleon Jiminez 7/2.
“Merkel has been well backed compared to the other contenders and we have cut her odds although we still think she has quite a job winning the prize this year,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
