Messire Adds To King's Winter Record

Messire Des Obeaux landed Alan King a fourth win in the Winter Novices’ Hurdle in the last eight years. The winner is now quoted with William Hill at 20-1 for both the Neptune and the Albert Bartlett and 14-1 to win ANY race at Cheltenham Festival.

Vanquished Ballyandy has been pushed out to 20-1 for the Neptune from 14-1 and 25-1 from 16-1 for the Albert Bartlett.

“It’s still early days in the season, but Messire Des Obeaux has shown a valiant attitude to battle back to win and it’s that kind of heart that could propel him in to contention for the big novice hurdle races at Cheltenham,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
