McCoy Tips Idaho Who Could Start Odds-On For Leger

Sir Anthony McCoy is backing Idaho to win the final Classic of the season, the St Leger. William Hill are just Even-Money that Idaho makes it five wins in the race for Aidan O’Brien.

Speaking in his blog for William Hill, Sir Anthony McCoy says Idaho should win the St Leger.

“I think Idaho is a good thing to win the St Leger after winning the Great Voltigeur. He was second in the Irish Derby and third in the Epsom Derby and he looks like the further he goes, the better he’ll be. Idaho deserves to be short-priced favourite for the Leger at the moment.”

Hills have cut Idaho from 9-4 to Even-Money since his Great Voltigeur win. Prior to that York victory, he had been 4-1.

“There has been an awful lot of money for Idaho and he could well start odds-on for the St Leger,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, in this weekend’s Doom Bar Celebration Mile, Thikriyaat continues to be strong as the 2-1 favourite. However, it’s not one-way traffic, as Hathal has been backed at longer odds with William Hill – he’s 8-1 from 12-1 in the past 24 hours.
