Marine Sails To Presidential Favouritism

MARINE LE PEN has sailed to favouritism to win the French Presidential Election with bookmakers William Hill who say that 54% of all the bets they have taken on the outcome, and 52% of all the money gambled so far, has been for her to win.

Hills now make Marine Le Pen 11/8 favourite (42% chance) to win and succeed Francois Hollande, who is a 33/1 (3%) outsider to retain the role.

'We offered Marine Le Pen at 7/1 when we first opened a betting market on the outcome of the French Presidential Election, but with over half of all the bets placed and over half of all the money staked pouring on her, the odds have tumbled rapidly, and she has now taken over from previous odds-on favourite, Alain Juppe, now 6/4 (40%), with the most recent odds cut seeing her price shorten from 2/1 to 118 clear favourite' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

The largest bet Hills have so far taken for Le Pen is one of £900 from a Leeds-based client, while the largest for any candidate is £1656 on Alain Juppe.
