Lib Dems To Embarrass Labour In Witney?

THERE HAS BEEN a gamble with William Hill on the Liberal Democrats to heap further humiliation on Labour by beating them in to third place in the up-coming Witney by-election.

With the Conservatives blue-hot favourites at 1/33 (97% chance) to hold on to David Cameron's seat, William Hill have opened a betting market on who will do best of the rest, and initially installed the Lib Dems as third favourites behind favourites Labour and second favourites, UKIP.

But Hills have now slashed the Lib Dem odds from 2/1 (33% chance) third favourites  to 11/10 (45% chance) joint favourites with Labour, while UKIP are 5/1 and the Greens 33/1.

'Tim Farron seems to have sparked something of a revival in the Lib Dem fortunes and he'll be desperate to put one over on Labour, UKIP and the Greens in Witney to show that his Party is on the way back – and political punters clearly believe he can do just that – whether Labour are still being led by Corbyn or under the new management of Smith.' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, adding, 'We have also lengthened Labour's odds of winning the next General Election with an overall majority from 5/1 to 6/1.'
