Idaho St Leger Favourite + Syphax Set For States

Idaho is the outright 9-4 favourite (from 4-1) for the St Leger with William Hill, after staying on strongly to win the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. He had been 4-1 joint-favourite prior to his victory.

“Stamina appears to be Idaho’s forte and he is the one to beat in the St Leger,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, William Hill price Syphax at 12-1 for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf after trainer Kevin Ryan suggested that race could be on the agenda for the Acomb Stakes winner.

Syphax is also a 33-1 chance for next year’s 2000 Guineas.
