Harzand Strong For Irish & Test Backed For Eclipse

There’s been plenty of money for Harzand as the betting week gets underway, with The Derby winner being backed to follow up in the Irish Derby. Harzand has been cut by Hills to 5-4 from 11-8.

“Harzand impressed a lot of people with his Derby win and there’s a positive vibe that he can do the business again in the Irish version,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Meanwhile, Time Test has come for strong support in the Eclipse. The Brigadier Gerard Stakes winner has been backed from 5-1, in to 4-1 and cut again to 7-2.

“Time Test is being backed as if the Eclipse is a foregone conclusion. We beg to differ as it could be a very competitive race and while we are happy to lay Time Test, the liabilities have shot upwards and we’ve had little choice but to slash the odds,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
