Grand National: Punters Smash On Shutthefrontdoor

Bookmakers William Hill can report that the most popular horse in the Grand National is Shutthefrontdoor.

William Hill have cut the Jonjo O’Neill-trained horse to 10-1 from 16-1 after a huge plunge on last year’s favourite.

William Hill predict that if the gamble continues, the industry could pay out up to £100million, if Shutthefrontdoor wins.

“Shutthefrontdoor was very well-backed in last year’s Grand National and the gamble is on again.” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “It is building up to be one of the biggest gambles in the history of the Grand National and could lead to a monster £100million pay out across the industry.”

Holywell, also trained by Jonjo O’Neill, would be a losing result for the bookmakers and is the second worst scenario for the layers.
